As promised, Apple has finally revealed Pluribus, a new show from Breaking Bad creator Vince Gilligan that’s coming to Apple TV Plus. In addition to a very brief teaser involving some gross donut behavior, the streamer also confirmed that the show will premiere on November 7th.

The show has been in the works for a while, as Apple first announced that it had picked up a Gilligan project back in 2022. It stars Rhea Seehorn, who previously worked with Gilligan on Better Call Saul. But there aren’t a lot of details other than that. According to Apple, the show — which is already confirmed for a second season –is about “the most miserable person on Earth” who “must save the world from happiness.” The rest of the cast includes Karolina Wydra, Carlos Manuel Vesga, Miriam Shor, and Samba Schutte.

While details are slim, we do at least have one single image of Seehorn in the show:

Pluribus also adds to an ever-growing lineup of science fiction series on Apple TV Plus, including recent shows like Murderbot and new seasons of Foundation and Invasion, along with upcoming projects like an adaptation of Neuromancer.

In May, we learned that the development of a sequel to the Cyberpunk 2077 game is moving forward at CD Projekt Red, and today, at the Anime Expo 2025 event, it officially announced a new season of the anime spinoff for Netflix. Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 will have “…an entirely new story, fresh characters, and a raw, realistic take on the most dangerous city of the dark future.

On Saturday, Netflix released an official teaser trailer for Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 that mixes up clips from the first season with the message that “David’s Dead,” plus some concept art-style teases as it moves on to a new set of stories in Night City.

The new season will be directed by Kai Ikarashi, who also directed episode six in the first season, “Girl on Fire.” There’s no word yet on when Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 will premiere, but they also released this new poster.

Showrunner and writer Bartosz Sztybor said during Friday’s panel that for season one, “I just wanted to make the whole world sad… when people are sad, I’m a bit happy,” and that this new 10-episode season will be “…of course, sadder, but it will be also darker, more bloody, and more raw.”

The third and final season of the industry-defining Squid Game confidently delivers each new round of the deathly games with spectacularly brutal aplomb - but its attempts at worldbuilding are disappointingly tired and uneven.

Some of Squid Game's most interesting dynamics from the first two seasons - the politics among the masked guards, the organ-harvesting operation, the relationship between Front Man/In-ho (played by Lee Byung-hun) and brother Jun-ho (Wi Ha-jun), the crew of burly men led by Jun-ho trying to uncover and infiltrate the island hosting the games - screech to frustratingly lackluster conclusions, without enlarging the world beyond what we have already seen so far.

A new season of any show should always aim to ask new questions. For Squid Game, there are plenty to choose from. What is the selection process like for guards, and how do they get promoted up the hierarchy into the "triangle" sergeants or, eventually, the "square" leaders? What are their inner politics like? Jeopardy! and Wheel of Fortune are coming to streaming for the first time. The two game shows will arrive on Hulu and Peacock in September, according to a report from The New York Times.

Under the multi-year deal, new episodes of Jeopardy! and Wheel of Fortune will appear on both streaming services one day after they air on linear TV. The agreement will include older episodes of each show, too.

For decades, Jeopardy! and Wheel of Fortune have been staples on linear TV, and their expansion to Peacock and Hulu is part of a broader pattern that’s bringing key series, like WWE’s Monday Night Raw, to streaming.

As pointed out by The Hollywood Reporter, this streaming deal isn’t directly connected to the legal battle involving Sony — the producer of Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy! — and its distributor, CBS. 

Last year, Sony sued CBS over claims it breached their agreement by not doing enough to boost revenue from licensing the shows. A judge granted Sony the rights to distribute Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy! in April, but an appellate court ruled last week that CBS can keep distributing the shows during the legal battle.

A new teaser trailer for Science Saru’s The Ghost in the Shell anime series has been announced on the official Ghost in the Shell website in a post spotted by Anime News Network. The post also revealed some of the staff heading up the series, which includes people who’ve worked on other shows from the animation studio, including Scott Pilgrim Takes Off and Dandadan, both of which have made their way to the US via Netflix.

The trailer cycles through hand-drawn storyboards and key animation reminiscent of the original manga — that’s not a big surprise after the first teaser Science Saru put out, which was itself mostly a collection of images from the manga. It’s also good news for anyone burned by the look of the 2017 live-action Scarlett Johansson-starring Ghost in the Shell movie or the CG-animated Netflix series.

The Ghost in the Shell is being directed by Moko-chan (Dandadan), with other staff including scriptwriter EnJoe Toh (Godzilla Singular Point) and character designer / animation director Shuhei Handa (Scott Pilgrim Takes Off), who illustrated the poster above. Mythic Quest, the Apple TV Plus comedy about a game studio, isn’t getting a fifth season, reports Variety. And, like a developer issuing a farewell patch, Apple is updating the final episode of season four with a new “goodbye” ending next week.

Variety published a statement from Mythic Quest’s executive producers:

“Endings are hard. But after four incredible seasons, ‘Mythic Quest’ is coming to a close,” said series executive producers Megan Ganz, David Hornsby, and Rob McElhenney. “We’re so proud of the show and the world we got to build—and deeply grateful to every cast and crew member who poured their heart into it. To all our fans, thank you for playing with us. To our partners at Apple, thank you for believing in the vision from the very beginning. Because endings are hard, with Apple’s blessing we made one final update to our last episode—so we could say goodbye, instead of just game over.”

The news comes just weeks after a report that Apple has been losing $1 billion a year on TV Plus. The show just wrapped up its fourth season and released a four-episode spinoff called Side Quest on March 26th.
