The right-wing media ecosystem seems to not know what to make of the Elon Musk–Donald Trump spat—but some of the president’s loyalists have made their feelings known in plain terms.

Trump advisers tell WIRED that their mutually beneficial arrangements with the notorious right wing influencer may be coming to an end.

“People agree with what he’s trying to do. But some people just need a villain,” a source tells WIRED.

According to former staffers and a deposition, Nancy Mace has allegedly used her tech background to deploy bots across social media—and asked staffers to surreptitiously post on her behalf.
